Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is a World Class School with high expectations, encouraging our students to be aspirational with their learning and to enjoy all aspects of school life. We are looking to appoint a Finance Officer to support our small and busy Finance team.
Based in school you will be working alongside the Senior Finance Officer, responsible for the day-to-day processing of financial administration. You will prepare and process data using the Academy’s finance system, administering purchase orders and invoices; documenting goods received for payment and checking for accuracy to resolve any disputes. You will liaise with key stakeholders including students and parents; budget holders and suppliers.
There will of course be monthly processing and reconciliations, plus reporting and updates; your routine tasks and of course ad-hoc jobs that you would expect from a fast paced and key role in a busy Academy School, to ensure all financial procedures are adhered to. Our Finance system is PS Financials; we also use Parent Pay, Lloyds Bank and ARBOR as well as the Microsoft 365 suite. A full job description is attached.
Our ideal candidate will be well educated, highly organised with great attention to detail. Essentially, you will have up to date knowledge of all Microsoft packages and be comfortable using online portals. You will have some relevant experience of working in a financial setting. You will be a team player, approachable, motivated and proactive willing to learn and progress.
This post is 32.5 hours per week during term-time, Monday to Friday 8am – 3pm with a 30-minute rest break each day. Plus 4 weeks of holiday work, which can be hybrid on and off-site. This is pre-planned and will be worked during school holidays across April, end July and August. We fully close the department during the Christmas break and there is no requirement to work during the February and October half-term periods. This post has an actual salary starting from £25,445.63 per annum rising in increments over time to £27,891.96 per annum. This includes 23 days paid annual leave, which must be taken during periods of school closure, plus 8 bank holidays.
