Applications are invited for the post of Emergency Planning Officer within LC Specialist Operations, Emergency Planning Team based at Hutton Headquarters. This post is temporary until 27/08/2025.
The purpose of this role is to support the Civil Contingency Unit Manager in ensuring that the effectiveness of the Constabulary to comply with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 both in respect of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity is maintained to the highest possible level.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To prepare, review and maintain Emergency and Business Continuity plans to include risk assessments.
2. To plan and deliver training on the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
3. Ensure compliance with Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and associated guidance.
4. To deliver Civil Contingencies Services including exercising to divisions as determined by the Civil Contingency Unit Manager.
5. To chair and engage in meetings.
6. Create and deliver presentations in relation to the Civil Contingencies Act to a wide range of groups and organisations.
7. To provide support to divisions during spontaneous and pre-planned incidents/operations.
Please note, as a condition of your appointment you must undergo and pass (MV+SC). There is a minimum 5 year UK residency required for Management Vetting.
