Are you an experienced Site Section Engineer looking for a new challenge? Do you want to be part of a critical infrastructure project that will shape the UK's energy future? We're looking for a skilled engineer to join our team on the Sizewell C project as part of the Civil Works Alliance (CWA).
As a Site Section Engineer in the M&T Pre-Construction phase, you'll be working on some of the early enabling works, including earthworks, sea defences, drainage, and more. What's the role?
As Site Section Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of the works. You'll manage day-to-day site activities, lead the team in setting out, and ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are met. You will also coach and mentor junior engineers while maintaining commercial awareness and controlling project costs.
What will you be doing?
1. Reviewing method statements, risk assessments, and safety documentation to ensure safe working practices
2. Producing task briefing sheets and implementing permits to work, including Confined Space Permits and Hot Works Permits
3. Managing site activities, producing as-built drawings, and completing quality check sheets
4. Supporting the development of short-term programmes and monitoring KPI compliance
5. Managing subcontractors, monitoring costs, and ensuring budget control
6. Coaching and mentoring junior engineers and liaising with designers to resolve technical issues
What we need from you:
1. A HNC/HND/Degree in an electrical or engineering discipline (or equivalent site experience)
2. CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification
3. Extensive experience in the construction industry, particularly in earthworks, drainage, pavement, or structures
4. Strong leadership skills and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
5. A full understanding of safe systems of work and experience in coaching teams to meet technical requirements
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Why Sizewell C? By joining the CWA, you'll be contributing to a project that will provide low-carbon, reliable electricity to the UK for the next 60+ years.
