We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team at Undercliffe Surgery.
This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week over 3 days, Wednesday - Friday.
Interviews will be held on Monday 11th November 2024.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be working under the indirect supervision of the nursing team, providing a high standard of care that meets the patients' needs. In addition, you will work alongside the multidisciplinary team of GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, and other HCAs in the provision of health checks, long-term condition checks, patient education, and supporting minor surgery clinics.

Undercliffe Surgery is a busy, forward-thinking practice in the heart of Heckmondwike. We are a friendly dynamic team led by our three GP Partners. Our clinical team consists of GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Nurses, and Healthcare Assistants, supported by our Secretarial and admin teams. We also work alongside Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Pharmacists, and Mental Health Support Workers who are aligned with us from Spen PCN.
Job Responsibilities
You will be assisting the clinical team in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education in the areas listed below:
* ECGs
* New patient health checks
* Diabetic foot checks
* Basic wound care and suture/clip removal
* Dressings
* Administering flu, pneumonia, and B12 injections having been adequately trained
* Ensure fridge temperatures are regularly monitored
* Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording
* Height and weight checks
* Assist in minor surgical procedures
* Urinalysis and preparations of samples
* Chaperoning
* Stock takes
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care
* Qualified in Phlebotomy
* GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
Experience
* Relevant experience working in a primary care setting
* Experience using SystmOne
* Experience operating an ECG machine
* Experience/training in administering vaccines and injections
