Legal & Governance Manager, Claims Vendor Management

The Claims Vendor Management Function is responsible for the acquisition of services from external vendors to support the delivery of the Chubb Claims service & management of those vendor relationships.
Our team supports the international business within Chubb, otherwise known as COG and includes four Regions across Europe, Middle East & Africa, South & Central America, Asia, Australia & New Zealand and Japan.
Our team is multi-faceted. No one day is the same: The team may need to oversee a contract negotiation, review vendor performance metrics, co-ordinate with internal stakeholders re business requirements, undertake due diligence to onboard a new vendor, evaluate vendors’ proposals for new business, terminate a vendor relationship and manage the run-off.
This is a 12 month contract role. In this role you will be a central and integral part of our team; working on a diverse range of matters, collaborating closely with Chubb’s In-House legal teams, colleagues globally, and third parties such as vendors and external clients. It is a perfect opportunity for someone with a legal background to move into a dynamic commercial environment.
Responsibilities:
* Reports directly to the Vice President, COG Claims Vendor Management
* Provides support across COG Vendor Management teams and Chubb In-House legal teams drafting agreements and other documentation, interpretation of contract wording, dispute resolution as required.
* Gatekeeper of Claims Vendor Templates & Guidelines & other Governance documents including log of issues.
* Draft & maintain up to date Vendor Management policies and procedures and circulate updated versions.
* Vendor Management Compliance as required by internal Legal, Risk, Compliance and Info Security guidelines that govern the use of all vendors: Acts as the interface between Claims Vendor Management and internal Legal, Risk, Compliance and Info Sec related functions, including Chubb Global & North America where required.
* Responsible for essential communications and briefings to internal and external stakeholders.
* Point of escalation for systemic vendor related issues from the Regions into the COG team.
* Regular reporting, sometimes involving sensitive material to senior stakeholders ensuring they have appropriate level of information to take actions or make informed decisions.
* Provides technical support on the ongoing performance management of primarily legal vendors including benchmarking and identification of Key Performance Indicators, analysis and interpretation of MI against Key Performance metrics, guidance on vendors bill review processes.
* Monitors industry trends and best practices to identify new Vendor Management concepts for potential adoption.
* Responsible for reporting out on strategic vendor reviews, detailing if requirements are being met, issues being managed, vendors meeting contractual SLAs, monitoring & tracking actions to closure.
Qualifications:
* You will be a qualified lawyer in UK, 5 years +’ PQE
* Claims handling experience
* Flexibility to work within multiple time zones
* Ability to understand contract agreements, terms and conditions.
* Proven track record in distilling complex legal issues and risks and ability to think laterally and identify creative customer focused solutions. Problem solving skills.
* Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with legal, regulatory and compliance concepts.
* Excellent attention to detail drafting and analytical skills.
* Ability to produce succinct accurate documentation within strict timeframes.
* Keen to learn, self-motivated but able to work as a team.
* Confidentiality and integrity.
* Strong organizational and administrative skills.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a high degree of credibility and influence among internal and external customers.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly focusing on MS Excel spreadsheets, charts, and pivot tables.
