Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our small, high-performing Project Engineering Team at our Head Office in Ely, Cambridgeshire. The Project Engineer forms the hub of the project, manages the engineering & customer facing activities, and is responsible for the successful completion of each contract.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. Managing the engineering of the project, ensuring that all phases are carried out to meet the project schedule and budget
2. Coordinating the project team
3. Managing Customer communication
4. Leading the planned Project meetings such as Design & Constructability reviews, HAZOP, P&ID, GA, Process, Mechanical, E&I, and Control System meetings
5. Managing the implications of changes and ensuring the overall design integrity
6. Specification & procurement of equipment for incorporation into the package
7. Providing technical support & feedback to the Proposals team
8. Providing support to manufacturing
9. Participating in testing and inspections
10. Regularly reporting on key deliverables such as man-hours, bought-out items & completion dates
11. Ensuring that the design meets all required customer specifications, industry standards and codes
12. Generating project specific engineering procedures & documentation
13. Ensuring that all drawings & documents meet project requirements
14. Achieving project milestone dates to support cash flow
15. Supplier invoice approval
Qualifications & Skills:
16. Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering Degree
17. Demonstrable experience in a project engineering role – the ideal candidate would have a history of working on bespoke engineered packages for the Energy industry
18. Strong communication, negotiation, technical and organisational skills
This is mainly an office based role, although some travel to our Workshops, Suppliers or Customer sites may be required for time to time, both nationally and internationally.
