Early Years General Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Ferryhill, County Durham Position: Full-Time, Permanent Start Date: As soon as possible About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years General Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team in Ferryhill. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young children in their early stages of learning and development. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team to provide high-quality care and support for children aged 3-5 years. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS curriculum. Assisting with the supervision of children, both in the classroom and during outdoor activities. Helping to create a positive, nurturing, and safe environment for the children. Supporting children on a one-to-one or small group basis to meet their individual learning needs. Encouraging children’s independence, confidence, and social skills. Observing and reporting on children’s progress and development. Assisting with the preparation of resources and classroom organisation. Skills & Experience: A passion for working with young children and supporting their development. Experience working in an early years or school setting is preferred but not essential. A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting children.
