Role and responsibilities :
To help build and lead an ecology team within our Environmental Department
To attend site to carry out ecology/PEA surveys to specified standard PEA and ESR Reports in accordance with Network Rail standards
To be an integral part of the planning process by liaising with LLFA, IDB, EA and Natural England regarding water course consenting and licences
To create site specific environmental Risk Assessments
To attend site and carry out watching briefs
To want to make a difference
Provide ecology advice and support to project managers and works delivery teams
Draft and check protected species management plans
Write toolbox talks and lead environmental discussions on site
Investigate environmental incidents
Maintain records
Liaise with project managers and clients staff to plan and implement environmental protection measures
Habitat surveys and biodiversity scoring
Develop plans to deliver net biodiversity gain on project sites
Skillsrequired :
Associate Member of CIEEM, working towards Chartered
Relevant degree desirable but not essential
Full UK driving licence
Railway experience desirable but not essential as full training will be given
Minimum 2 years experience
Notes:
This position will be a hybrid role, with a mixture of working from the Rench Farm Office, from home and on site where required.
