The main purpose of the position is to ensure that the reception and administration of the practice runs smoothly and provides a high level of service to patients, clinicians, and other members of the practice team.
To this end, we will need someone with previous Primary Care experience and the ability to use EMIS.
We are looking to fill this vacancy quickly and won't, at this time, be able to accept any applications where the candidate doesn't have these skills.

Our clinical team is made up of three GPs, two GP Registrars, three Advanced Practitioners, five Clinical Pharmacists, a Practice Nurse, an in-house Physiotherapist, and a Mental Health Clinician, all offering a range of clinics within our 3 sites in central Telford.
Currently, we have approximately 7,400 registered patients.

Job Responsibilities
1. To ensure that the reception and administration of the practice runs smoothly, providing a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses, and other members of the practice team.
2. Booking appointments.
3. Contacting pathology/medical secretaries/outside agencies.
4. Dealing with test result enquiries.
5. Ambulance/Transport bookings.
6. Home visit requests.
7. Dealing with general enquiries.
8. Contacting other providers as requested by Doctor or Management.
Reception Duties
1. Greet patients and visitors.
2. Register new patients and temporary residents.
3. Signposting patients to appropriate agencies.
4. Entering correspondence on Docman system.
5. Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift, as necessary.
6. Respond to needs of clinicians during clinics.
7. Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services.
8. Dealing with general enquiries.
Records
1. Summarise, maintain, and file/pull records as needed.
Prescriptions
1. Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions.
2. Raising prescriptions as per practice protocols.
3. Dealing with queries relating to repeat prescriptions.
General
1. Input and extract information from the practice computer system.
2. Check and action tasks, personal and generic emails, and AccuRx daily.
3. Process all incoming and outgoing mail.
4. Undertake copying as required.
5. Ensure that there is always an adequate level of stock e.g., new registration forms, Path lab forms, etc.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good standard of general education.
* GCSE/GCE Mathematics C or above - Desirable.
* GCSE/GCE English C or above - Desirable.
* Experience of working within General Practice.
* Experience of Reception/Administration work.
* Full working knowledge of EMIS System.
* Excellent communication skills (Written and Oral).
* Experience with all Microsoft application tools.
