A vacancy has arisen for a Roads Working Foreperson to join our team working on the Isle of Islay in Argyll and Bute, one of Scotland's most beautiful areas.

The Roads Working Foreperson will be expected to undertake structural and road maintenance works. Be able to understand and work unsupervised setting out and constructing all types of work to a satisfactory standard. Supervise and motivate a large multi-skilled group of employees. Ensure deadlines are adhered to when submitting paperwork. Participate in out-of-hours standby during summer/winter months to ensure roads are maintained in a safe condition. This is a permanent post, 37 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday.
It is essential that the successful applicant holds an HGV licence and has experience in supervisory management or equivalent. They should also possess leadership skills in a small team as well as the ability to work on their own initiative.
