Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior CNC Programmer to join our Production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and refining advanced CNC programs for wood-based products. In this role, you will oversee the CNC production team, ensuring high standards of precision and efficiency while assisting with the creation of production-ready drawings. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will also collaborate with the Development team to ensure seamless production from design to finished product.
Key Responsibilities
1. CNC Programming and Setup: Develop, test, and refine complex CNC programs for wood-based products, ensuring precision and efficiency in the production process.
2. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the CNC production team, providing training, guidance, and support to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement.
3. CAD & SolidWorks: Utilise CAD to produce accurate design and production-ready drawings. Use SolidWorks to create detailed models and convert them into machine-readable formats for automated production.
4. Quality Control: Perform regular checks on CNC programs and outputs, ensuring all products meet production and quality standards. Adjust programs as necessary to maintain these standards.
5. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve programming or machine-related issues to minimise downtime and optimise production efficiency.
6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve programming workflows, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices within the CNC team.
7. Maintenance Oversight: Coordinate regular maintenance and prompt repairs of CNC machines to ensure optimal operation and minimise disruptions to production.
8. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols, maintaining a safe and organised workspace for all team members.
Key Requirements
1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in CNC programming within a wood-based manufacturing environment.
2. Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD and SolidWorks. Strong experience with G-code programming and interpreting technical specifications is essential.
3. Leadership: Proven experience leading or mentoring a team, with strong communication and organisational abilities.
4. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to resolving programming and operational issues.
5. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
6. Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in CNC programming, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field are preferred.
