You are encouraged to be in the office most of the time, as we believe this dynamic environment is the best place to learn, network and have fun whilst being an early careers' professional. You will be joining the Electrification Automation business within Siemens Smart Infrastructure - responsible for delivering high voltage switchgear with its associated protection and control systems and services into our UK customer base. Part of being an apprentice at Siemens means you get to work on real life projects whilst being supported on a guided learning journey. This will be a 3.5 year apprenticeship where you will complete the Level 3 Engineering Fitter standard. Your learning will be supported throughout your programme by Siemens mentors and by one of our training partners who will be the apprenticeship provider. Your role will include: Wiring of assemblies in accordance with schematic drawings and wiring diagrams for electricity transmission. Preparing, crimping, terminating and loom ing wires and cables in accordance with general arrangement, schematic and wiring diagrams. Complet ing all wiring to customer specification. Uploading configurations, creating test systems and testing substation protection and control systems across multiple industries. Working within the Testing and Wiring Team, reporting to a Team Leader as well as interacting with other parts of the business covering project delivery, proposals, sales and procurement. Gaining skills working on various software packages and testing tools, as well as the engineering processes required to help deliver complex solutions. Identifying and implement ing business improvements. Analys ing engineering problems related to equipment and systems or the causes of component failures and develop solutions. Lead ing small projects that are assigned to you. Support ing Factory / Site Acceptance / Integration Testing procedures. Assist ing w ith site installation and commissioning works. What do I need to apply? You will have achieved at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including Maths and English Language.
