SALARIED GP VACANCY
FIXED TERM CONTRACT FOR 3MONTHS

Wecurrently have a vacancy for a salaried General Practitioner up to 6 sessionsper week on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) for 3 months, starting either December2024 or January 2025.
Tobe eligible for this role, you must be within two years of certificate ofcompletion of training at the start date of employment, completed prior toOctober 2022.

Main duties of the job
Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including triage, history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral
Consultations will be undertaken in a variety of forms, face-to-face, online, telephone, digital
Adhering to the practice, local and national prescribing formulary
Checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Attending education meetings held on days when you are working.
Contributing to the development of and adhering to protocols/systems for the management of common medical conditions.
Participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to the improvement in quality of health outcomes through the practices audit programme
Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of GMS
Participating in the training and development of medical students and GP registrars in the practice
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care

Job description
Job responsibilities
The post-holder will manage and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities:
1. In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including face-to-face, digital, online and telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
3. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
5. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
6. Providing counselling and health education
7. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
8. Collecting data for audit purposes
9. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
10. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
11. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
