Finance Manager We are seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to lead our clients accounts department and provide essential financial management information. This role is crucial for the efficient and profitable operation of our legal practice. Day-to-day of the role: Manage the accounts department ensuring compliance with the Solicitor’s Accounts Rules. Conduct training for accounts staff and liaise with the firm’s auditors regarding Solicitors Accounts Rules audits. Manage the firm’s payroll, including annual returns to HMRC, P11Ds, maintaining payroll records, and liaising with the firm’s payroll bureau. Produce VAT returns and manage VAT payments. Complete Companies House returns and prepare monthly management accounts. Provide ad hoc financial information to the Partners and oversee financial control on expenditures. Prepare year-end management accounts and liaise with the firm’s accountants to produce year-end accounts. Maintain relationships with the firm’s banks and suppliers and manage the firm’s nominal ledgers. Assist and collaborate with the firm’s other senior managers. Attend Senior Management Team meetings and other meetings as required by the firm. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Finance Manager in a Legal Practice. In-depth knowledge of Solicitor’s Accounts Rules. High level of IT skills, particularly in practice management software and Excel. Extensive payroll knowledge.
