We are looking for qualified experienced staff to come and work in the Psychiatric Liaison team in Cumbria. We can provide a flexible environment and have the facility to offer a flexible working pattern over 24/7.
You will be providing mental health support to the acute hospitals, offering mental health and social needs assessments, and demonstrating an excellent understanding of mental health across all pathways.
You will develop meaningful relationships with other professionals such as A&E staff, Police, and adult social care to provide a holistic response to individuals' mental health needs.
Main Duties of the Job
You will manage all aspects of mental health care to provide support and advice to families, patients, and professionals regarding mental health. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing support.
As an experienced practitioner, we will offer you regular supervision, management, and clinical support. We will offer opportunities for continued professional development and encourage our staff in the ongoing development of the service.
You will have skills in assessing all mental health issues that can arise out of normal working hours, as the service is available 24/7. You will be skilled in decision-making and confident in your abilities as a practitioner.

Person Specification
Education Qualification
* Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker, or Clinical Psychologist
* Mentor training
* Evidence of post-registration training in clinical/psychological interventions/skills relevant to the post
* Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post
* Training in CPA, Safeguarding, MAPPA, and child protection
* Up-to-date knowledge/experience of relevant legislation
* Experience working with patients with older age needs
Knowledge and Experience
* Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC standards, and other local and national initiatives
* 12 to 24 months band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need
Skills and Competencies
* Proven ability to carry out comprehensive written assessments of individuals with complex mental health needs
* Risk assessment and risk management/safety planning skills
* Demonstrate an understanding of effective and appropriate treatment options, including a range of evidence-based clinical approaches as identified in N.I.C.E
* Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
* Evidence of a high level of professional, organizational, and leadership skills (self and others)
