Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) assessments in line with the Children Act 1989.
Complete initial and core assessments within statutory timescales, ensuring a child-centered approach.
Investigate and assess safeguarding concerns, risk factors, and family dynamics to determine appropriate interventions.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, including police, health services, schools, and legal teams, to ensure child safety and well-being.
Prepare court reports, child protection plans, and other legal documentation as required.
Attend strategy discussions, case conferences, and legal proceedings where necessary.
Engage with children and families to understand their needs and ensure their voices are heard in the assessment process.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory and local authority requirements.
