Employment Advisor Barrow-in-Furness Up to £28,922 Full-time, Permanent Job Description: Are you passionate about making a difference in people's lives? We are looking for an Employment Advisor who will support young people and adults on their journey into employment. This rewarding role involves providing one-to-one and group support, diagnosing individuals' needs across employment, training, benefits, housing, and social issues. You will set SMART targets and deliver information, advice, and guidance sessions to help customers gain new skills and opportunities for sustainable employment. Duties: Provide individual and group support to customers, identifying their needs and developing tailored action plans. Deliver information, advice, and guidance sessions to help participants overcome barriers to employment and training. Maintain regular contact with customers, ensuring continued engagement and progress toward their goals. Work collaboratively with colleges, training providers, and the National Apprenticeship Service to secure opportunities for young people. Assist customers with CV writing, job applications, interview preparation, and career planning. Facilitate and monitor workshops and training sessions, ensuring feedback is gathered and improvements are implemented. Manage administration tasks, including maintaining accurate records of participant referrals and interactions. Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and residential work, to deliver support in various settings. Required Skills: Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment, training, or education. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a friendly and supportive approach. Excellent organisational and IT skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. A proactive and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to work flexible hours when required. Ability to set SMART targets and work in a performance-driven environment. Strong relationship-building skills to engage effectively with participants, colleagues, and external partners.
