Kitchen Assistant
Hourly rate: £12 per hour
Type: Permanent, Part-time, Monday to Friday (20 hours per week)
Location: Beechwood Court, Churchill Way, Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, TW16 7RL
About the role
To provide a comprehensive catering service, ensuring we deliver high quality meals to clients living in sheltered accommodation and/or the wider community. This role is to work in an extra care setting operating within the catering service to deliver excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities / deliverables
1. Food preparation and service, including preparing packed teas and serving meals to residents.
2. Responsible for checking resident food profiles for allergies, preferences, and IDDSI rating, adhering to Company and Environmental Health Standards.
3. Maintain cleanliness in all aspects of the kitchen, storerooms, and kitchen office.
4. Assist the Chef Manager with deliveries, stock rotation, and removing out-of-date items.
5. Communicate when products are running low.
6. Carry out Health, Safety, and Food Hygiene standards checks as directed by A2Dominion Catering Standards.
7. Support the Chef Manager in preparing for inspections or audits by external authorities.
8. Act as chef when required, once induction is completed, and maintain restaurant front of house service delivery standards.
9. Manage mandatory training requirements set by A2Dominion.
More about You
The following are desirable:
1. Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (Grades A* - C).
2. Cooking experience.
3. Knowledge of the Extra Care home environment.
4. Ability to engage with elderly vulnerable customers and their families.
You won’t necessarily have experience in this sector, as we recognize that transferable skills and experience are just as valuable.
