Job Title: Operational Buyer (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Farnborough, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operational Buyer to join their procurement team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components essential to the production process.
Key Responsibilities of the Operational Buyer:
1. Manage the procurement of materials, components, and services to meet production schedules and business requirements.
2. Negotiate pricing and contract terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
3. Monitor supplier performance, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with agreed specifications.
4. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and supply chain teams, to maintain an efficient procurement process.
5. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to prevent disruptions.
6. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and supplier agreements.
7. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
Key Requirements of the Operational Buyer:
1. Proven experience in an operational procurement or purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
3. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
4. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
5. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
