We are representing a UK based, private tech company enabling the transition to a net-zero future who operate a unique production process that uses microwave plasma to extract a physical carbon powder called Graphene from natural gas. During 2025 they will be scaling up their operation, delivering projects at customer sites globally, and getting their next generation product into customer hands.
Role Overview
Working closely with Engineering, Procurement and Manufacturing teams, this role will join a small but established engineering team which includes process, mechanical, CAD and two other EC&I engineers.
This role has responsibility for electrical, controls and instrumentation design of our clients decarbonisation products and R&D. Working on both customer projects and our in-house production and prototype systems, this role would suit an EC&I engineer who enjoys a varied environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering professional PLC software including logic and HMI, preferably using Siemens TIA Portal with S7 PLCs. Experience in control system and low voltage design is advantageous but this role will have a significant software element through improving, testing and commissioning the PLC software.

Architecting PLC solutions to ensure cost-effective, robust and easily installed systems.
Authoring and supporting others in production of key control system documentation such as User Requirements Specifications, Functional Design Specifications, Schedules, Test Plans.
Development of robust, scalable PLC logic, particularly using TIA Portal and Siemens S7-1200/1500
Development of HMIs
Understanding of functional safety lifecycle and ability to implement safety logic in failsafe PLCs.
Engage with customers to understand and resolve issues, building strong working relationships.
Use of AutoCAD or EPLAN for design documentation.
Ensuring EC&I systems are designed for safe and reliable operation
