Job Title: Computer Science Teacher (Maternity Cover) Location: Bedford Start Date: January 2024 Contract: Maternity Cover (until end of the academic year) About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This role will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Computer Science lessons to students, fostering a stimulating learning environment, and ensuring students reach their academic potential. The successful candidate will have a passion for the subject, strong pedagogical skills, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities. Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. Create a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and supports individual growth. Monitor and assess students' progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed. Collaborate with other members of the teaching team to share resources and best practices. Participate in department meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Computer Science curriculum and emerging technologies. Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, and contribute to the school's ethos and values. Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Proven experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level, ideally up to GCSE level. Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science and familiarity with current curriculum requirements. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to adapt to a maternity cover role, quickly establishing rapport with students and colleagues. Desirable Qualities Experience teaching A-Level Computer Science is advantageous. Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching practices.
