We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice in our welcoming primary school. Key Details Salary: £6.40p/h increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months Working hours: Monday – Friday (shifts TBC) 35 hours per week Location: Oasis Limeside, Third Avenue, Oldham, OL8 3SB Apprenticeship Details – 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship. (All learning is delivered online/ remote). Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider) Our teaching assistant apprenticeship programme will teach many different skills. You will be based in a classroom environment with young learners. As a Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to support classroom activities, assist in lesson planning, and provide individualised attention to students. This role provides valuable hands-on experience and training to raise the standards of achievement for all pupils. The role of a teaching assistant is to provide support for pupils, teachers, and other staff in order to: Encourage pupils to become more independent learners Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life Work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed Study relevant qualifications while you earn Supervising class activities Assisting with young people’s learning experience Helping students who might need extra support Attending relevant academy meetings as required Respecting confidentiality at all times Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for the identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies and help keep pupils on task Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher Demonstrate a positive commitment to equality and diversity Desired skills & Personal qualities: Suggest alternative ways of helping children if they are unable to understand Describe in simple terms the progress of behaviour management with children Identify gaps in their own experience that they need help in filling Assist children on an individual basis, in small group and whole class work to achieve and learn Enthusiastic, and have an interest in working with children A team player Reliable, committed, and punctual Desired qualifications: DBS must be completed if successful in the role About the Employer Oasis Limeside is a dynamic, inclusive primary school dedicated to providing a supportive and stimulating environment for children aged 3 to 11 years.
