We are looking for a motivated clinical psychologist to be an integral member of our dynamic Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team covering the South areas of West Sussex (including Worthing, Shoreham, Lancing, Henfield).
You will be part of a small specialist clinical psychology service led by a Senior Clinical Psychologist across SCFT Neurological teams.
The role is based in Worthing with some travel expected across the area. Sessions can be delivered through a combination of face-to-face, telephone and video consultations, as clinically appropriate.
The role is part time.
Main duties of the job
* To work as a core member of the multidisciplinary neurological rehabilitation team
* Carrying a clinical caseload and ensuring the provision of a high quality specialist neuropsychology service to adults living with a neurological condition and to their carers
* Offering specialist advice and consultation to patients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to non-professional carers
* Providing consultation, training, and support to the MDT and to other professionals working with people with neurological conditions.
* To receive supervision from a senior Clinical Psychologist specialising in Neuropsychology. Potentially offering supervision to Graduate Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists and working together to develop the service.
* To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice.
* To utilise research skills potentially for audit, policy and service development and research.
* To propose and implement policy changes within the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team.
* The post holder is expected to drive between visits using their own car and will be required to travel to other office/ hospital based locations across the Trust for meetings, training and supervision.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A Post graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology
* HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Specialist training relevant to neuropsychology
Experience
* Assessed experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist at a specialist level within neuropsychology
* Well established knowledge and skills in using a broad range of advanced assessments and tests relevant to neurological clients.
* Substantial experience of providing psychological and neuropsychological interventions to adults with progressive and/or acquired neurological conditions
Skills
* Knowledge of the theory and practice of highly specialised psychological therapies and assessment methodologies relevant to psychology and neuropsychology
* Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
Other requirements
* UK driving licence and car driver with access to a car for work purposes.
