We are currently seeking a Band 5 Nurse to join our busy and diverse General Surgical Ward, Ward E8, specialising in HPB (Hepatopancreatobiliary) and Urology Surgery. Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide high-quality, holistic care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures, including liver, pancreas, bile duct, bladder and kidney surgery. Job responsibilities
If you are a compassionate, skilled, and enthusiastic nurse, we want you to join our team on Ward E8. As a Band 5 Nurse on E8, you will be responsible for the care of patients who require close monitoring and interventions, often in the post-operative phase or as they step down from intensive care. You will manage a range of complex cases and ensure that all patients receive timely, safe, and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering High-Quality Patient Care: You will monitor patients closely after surgery, checking vital signs, identifying complications, and managing pain relief.
2. Patient Safety: Adhere to clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure the highest standards of safety in patient care.
3. Collaborative Teamwork: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
4. Emotional Support: Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
5. Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients' rights and preferences are respected.
6. Admission and Discharge: Assist with the admission process and support the safe discharge of patients.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Registered Nurse: You must hold a current NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration.
* Clinical Experience in High-Acuity Settings: Previous experience in high-acuity, intensive care, or surgical settings is preferred.
* Critical Thinking & Quick Decision-Making: Recognize early signs of deterioration in patients and take immediate, appropriate action.
* Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
