This is a temporary position for an experienced and motivated Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychology department and work alongside a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) at two southwest sites operated by Elysium Healthcare. The role involves conducting assessments, planning and implementing person-centered interventions, and evaluating care and treatment for patients with complex mental health needs.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for the assessment of referrals, providing initial assessments, and undertaking high-quality direct and indirect psychological interventions. They will work therapeutically with service users, formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment, and maintain high standards of care in accordance with professional guidelines and company policies. Job responsibilities
As a Psychologist, you will:
* Participate in the assessment of referrals and provide initial assessment service users referred to the service.
* Undertake high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and make autonomous clinical decisions.
* Work therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
* Formulate and implement plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
* Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* BPS recognized psychology degrees
* HCPC registration
* Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
* Approved supervisor status within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
* Previous experience conducting research and project work
Where you will be working
Location: The Copse, Beechmount Close, Oldmixon, Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, BS24 9EX. The Copse is a level 2 mental health rehab facility providing mental health services across four, six-bedded wards for men.
Location: Pinhoe View, College Way, EXETER, EX1 3P. Pinhoe View is a purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards.
