British Engines is a leading engineering group with a long heritage in the North East of England since 1922.

The BEL Engineered Solutions’ marketing department are looking for a driven and highly motivated Marketing Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn and develop on a daily basis, involving a mix of creative, analytical and administrative tasks aimed at enhancing brand presence and supporting enquiries.
What you’ll be doing
The role will provide marketing support to BEL Engineered Solutions, a division of the British Engines Group, to leading engineering companies, Michell Bearings, BEL Valves, Rotary Power, BEL Engineering and Tyne Pressure Testing, as well support to group central services and Stadium Export Services.
The role requires various skills such as writing, designing, supporting events/exhibitions, updating websites and assisting in digital elements including social media and Google Analytics.
The successful candidate will primarily be based at our St. Peters site and will be required to work at other businesses within the division.
This is a flexible role with the option of hybrid working for up to two days per week following the successful completion of your probationary period. The role also has access to a ‘Nine Day Fortnight’ working pattern, meaning you can condense your hours over nine days and be off every other Friday. (On the Friday’s that you are in, you’ll finish at 1:30pm!)
* Provide assistance to the Senior Marketing Coordinator and BEL Engineered Solutions Marketing Team with a range of marketing campaigns and requirements
* Assist in providing high quality, accurate, marketing and sales collateral including catalogues, product pages, samples cases and promotional merchandise
* Update appointed website(s) ensuring the content is fresh and information is correct, consistent and well-written for SEO
* Support internal and external events/exhibitions
* Develop and create content for social media
* Assist in the gathering and analysis of key marketing data from software such as Google Analytics and Accuranker
* Produce and distribute internal communications materials such as posters, emails, newsletters and weekly updates
* Maintain relationships with overseas offices through regular communications
* Market sector/consumer behaviour research as and when required
* Administrative duties including meeting minutes, quotations, designing marketing materials, maintain marketing drives and distributing marketing material
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a Marketing Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of experience, which can include time spent in a marketing role, university degree, or apprenticeship within a marketing discipline.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career, eager to learn and grow. Working closely with the Senior Marketing Coordinator, you’ll need strong organisational skills, creativity in design and a proactive, adaptable attitude.
The successful candidate will possess excellent writing skills and a keen attention to detail. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, while familiarity with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is desirable but not essential. Working knowledge of Google Ads and Google Analytics is a bonus. Full training and development opportunities will be provided to help you build your experience.
Our marketing department supports seven businesses across the group, so good time management is essential. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.
