This role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and outcome focused individual to play a crucial role in delivering programme management within the Cancer Network (CN), coordinating a National approach to the implementation of programmes across NHS Wales to improve timely diagnosis for patients who are on a suspected or confirmed cancer pathway. The role will lead in transforming care to meet patient needs. The post holder will shape a work programme to successfully deliver transformational change across the diagnostic landscape of the NHS in Wales, providing leadership and direction across the interfaces, joining up the constituent work programmes of the NHS Executive, and other agencies, to ensure alignment and a shared vision to support the implementation of various programmes within the CN. This will drive system change, innovation, and improvement to achieve the vision set out in A Healthier Wales to deliver earlier detection and accelerated traction though diagnostic pathways, and quality treatment and care pathways that will lead to improved outcomes and overall experience for patients in Wales. The post holder will build strong working relationships and partnerships, collaborating with Health Boards/Trusts, Primary Care, National Imaging, Pathology and Endoscopy Programmes, Improvement Cymru, Royal Colleges, Cancer Research UK, Wales Cancer Alliance and academic partnership via the Cardiff University/Wales Cancer Research Centre.
