Lead Rig Engineer / Rig Director – 12-Month FTC
Location: Cheltenham, Hybrid 3x a Week
Up to £64,500 basic + Car Allowance, Bonus, Healthcare & Competitive Pension
Our client is looking for hire for a Lead Rig Engineer who can provide expert technical knowledge and Electrical knowledge of Rig systems that you would be cleared to operate. The Rigs are a High Power Aircraft Electrical Installation to test their product operation in a full system.
You will also be responsible for the safety of the test team and equipment involved with and within the area of each Test Rig. This position requires diligent focus and technical knowledge of laboratory equipment and the tests being conducted.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage aircraft electrical test rigs, ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
* Assess risks, enforce EHS policies, and promote best practices.
* Mentor engineers and maintain technical competency within the team.
* Oversee electrical infrastructure for aircraft power system testing.
What You’ll Need:
* Proven expertise in high-power AC/DC electrical systems.
* Strong knowledge of BS7671 regulations and electrical safety procedures.
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational experience.
* Experience with aircraft power sources (IDGs, APUs, RATs, Batteries).
* Flexibility to work long shifts and overnight as required.
Although this role is an FTC, there is the possibility that this role will become a full term position or even go contract depending on skill sets.
