Role Overview
As an Audit Manager, you will play a key role in managing a diverse portfolio of clients, particularly focusing on private equity-backed businesses and owner-managed businesses (OMB) across various sectors such as technology, construction, and more. This role offers the opportunity to go beyond numbers by helping clients navigate challenges, understand their business risks, and deliver insightful advice. You will work closely with both clients and junior staff, ensuring quality service delivery and fostering professional development.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring efficient and effective audit services are delivered.
* Plan, control, and review client work, ensuring work is completed within budget and in a timely manner.
* Conduct pre-audit meetings to understand the client's business and areas requiring special attention.
* Allocate resources and effectively manage workloads to maximize efficiency.
* Oversee and mentor junior staff, providing them with a diverse range of tasks to build their experience.
* Complete performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback to help junior staff develop professionally.
* Identify opportunities for additional services that can benefit clients and contribute to revenue growth.
* Play an active role in client acquisition through networking, referrals, and business development activities.
* Manage ad-hoc project work, including compliance tasks and value-added services.
What We're Looking For
* ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with experience in an accountancy practice.
* Prior experience at Manager grade is desirable.
* Proficiency in accounting software such as Excel, Word, Sage, Alpha Tax, CaseWare, and VPM/Central.
* Strong management skills with the ability to delegate and oversee work effectively.
* Client-focused with a keen commercial awareness.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
