About the role
Connex Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Sutton in Ashfield. This rewarding role involves providing specialist support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You’ll be working closely with teachers to implement individual education plans and create an inclusive learning environment.
Assignment Details
This role offers an immediate start with the potential for long-term employment. You’ll be supporting SEND pupils in a variety of contexts, including one-to-one interventions, small group work, and classroom-based support.
Person Specification
We are specifically looking for candidates with:
* Experience working with children with SEND in educational or relevant settings
* Strong understanding of different learning needs and support strategies
* Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behavior management
While experience with SEND children is preferred, we highly value transferable skills from other sectors. Your experience in healthcare, social care, counseling, or youth work could provide valuable perspectives and approaches to supporting children with additional needs.
We focus on identifying candidates who can demonstrate:
* The ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable children
* Calm and consistent responses to emotional or behavioral challenges
* Strong observation skills to monitor progress and identify needs
No specific qualifications are required as we provide comprehensive training through Connex Academy. However, a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of SEND children is essential.
