Job Summary This is an exciting opportunity to join a strongly performing global equity team at junior level to assist in the management of our Global and Asian portfolios. Over time this will develop into a senior role with greatly expanding responsibilities. Support and manage equity assets and portfolios managed in CLAM, reporting on performance to the Head of Equities. This includes performance against benchmarks within risk limits. This role supports input to various areas, including, the day-to-day management of equity funds, asset allocation meetings and client reporting. The market span of this role is global however there will be a focus on the Asia market What You'll Do • Manage and monitor equity portfolios in accordance with policies, procedures and statutory requirements, to achieve the required return within risk limits, ensuring appropriate assets are acquired to support divisional new business requirements • Support reviews such that there are appropriate processes, procedures, policies, standards and systems are in place and seek ways they can be improved • Manage specific projects when required by the Equities (e.g. derivatives implementation, Bloomberg AIM) • Contribute and manage discussions on the economy, markets, asset allocation, specific transactions and exposures • Supporting the embedding and monitoring of ESG activity across the CLAM business with responsibility for fixed interest • Report on the activities and performance of the portfolios to relevant internal and external stakeholders • Ensure that the investment process appropriately manages day to day market risks Who You Are • Good communicator and strong presentation skills with an ability to present at Board level • Mandarin speaking (highly desirable) Qualifications • Degree in Economics or a numerate subject (required) • CFA or Willingness to undertake CFA or equivalent (highly desirable) Benefits of working at Canada Life We believe in recognising and rewarding our people, so we offer a competitive salary and benefits package that's regularly reviewed.
