Our HV design consultancy client is looking for a Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer to join their team. We're seeking a standout candidate with a proven track record in power systems engineering. Armed with an electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience in UK Grid Code Compliance Studies, you're well-versed in the nuances of power systems analysis and proficient in industry-standard software packages, including DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS/E, ETAP, PSCAD, IPSA, and CDEGs.
Responsibilities:
1. Performing steady-state studies such as load flow, fault level, and reactive compensation assessments.
2. Conducting dynamic studies, including frequency and voltage stability within the G99 standard.
3. Analysing P28 Transformer Energisation and Flicker.
4. Carrying out harmonic G5 analysis, power quality assessments, and filter design.
5. Undertaking transient over-voltage and insulation coordination simulation studies.
6. Leading control interaction studies and earthing assessments.
7. Overseeing protection coordination and Arc Flash studies.
8. Providing grid connection support to onshore and offshore developers.
9. Designing and programming solution components, with a focus on harmonic filters and reactive compensation.
10. Offering full support to the Tendering and Construction Team and Clients.
11. Having sound technical knowledge of multi-utility network components, network operation, operational policy, design standards, and specifications.
12. Providing technical support to all company departments and clients.
13. Reviewing and signing off the Power System Studies reports.
14. Demonstrating responsibility and accountability for personal service and getting things done.
15. Being tenacious to deal with and overcome objections from external peers.
16. Providing additional support to the Coordination and Commercial Departments.
17. Being highly driven and self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team.
