Job Overview This ICP is currently seeking a Senior EHV Design Engineer (up to 132kV) to supplement their dynamic and thriving Design Office on a permanent basis. The EHV Design Engineer will perform and/or assess all preapproval life cycle stage activities for EHV and complex HV systems including works being carried out by external vendors. The candidate will also be responsible to carry out and/or assess Power Systems studies and analysis deploying standard Power System Tools, to enunciate and validate the final technical design along with drawings and specifications. The candidate will work with internal teams across all Branches, and with vendors as needed, to arrive at commercial options and document them. The candidate shall interact with the end customers, adopting undertakers and all relevant stakeholders for approval/reviewing of the design drawings and specifications. Package Salary - Up to 80k Working conditions - Minimum 1 day per week in the office/remainder from home Benefits - Private medical insurance, Life assurance (4x salary), 8% matched pension, 25 days holiday bank holidays, 38hrs working week, 10% annual bonus Selected Key Duties Design and develop EHV electrical systems for transmission and distribution networks, including substations and switchgear Stringent analysis of the existing network infrastructure to identify the challenges faced and to reengineer the electrical scheme to meet the relevant design standards and regulatory requirements Carrying out System Studies such as Load flow and Fault Level Analysis, Protection Studies, Load Related Network, Reinforcement, Voltage stability etc Carrying out, Analysing/Interpreting the results of the power system simulation software, appropriate for Design of electrical schemes Experience/Skills Required Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5 years experience in EHV design (33kV, 66kV, 132kV) DNO familiarity Experience designing on PV, BESS or windfarm projects
