The Kelly Group is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in St Helens. You will play a vital role in supporting our field-based Install (CAD and CED) engineers, ensuring that technical issues don’t delay critical work.
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for our field engineers when technical challenges arise. Your role will involve:
* Providing real-time technical support – Assist field engineers over the phone or via video calls, helping to resolve issues that may be delaying installation work.
* Using network mapping software – Analyze and validate issues, using specialized software to find and implement solutions.
* Troubleshooting and problem-solving – Identify technical faults and provide immediate support to ensure minimal disruption to work.
* Ensuring smooth communication – Act as a key link between office-based and field engineers, ensuring clear and effective communication.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re searching for someone with a strong telecoms background who enjoys working in a dynamic, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have:
* Extensive knowledge of telecom networks – Experience with both Overhead (OH) and Underground (UG) networks, preferably fibre optic networks.
* Excellent telephone communication skills – Able to explain technical issues clearly and confidently to engineers in the field.
* Basic computer skills – Comfortable using network mapping software and other digital tools for troubleshooting.
* Problem-solving mindset – Able to think quickly and find solutions under pressure.
