Job Purpose In this newly created role, you will oversee inventory control and analysis for the Ashby site. You will become an integral part of the planning function to ensure effective processes for near term and long-term supply planning. Job Responsibilities Hands on inventory management with the primary objective of maintaining accurate inventory records across both our systems and physical locations. Regular monitoring and reporting of inventory levels, age, condition, and turnover to ensure that value is maximised and that actions are developed and executed expediently to address any discrepancies or deviations. Effectively plan, manage, and control all stock and perpetual inventory management checks. Continually review the replenishment process. Support and actively take part in new product introduction projects. Assist with and actively drive cost reduction exercises. Analyse and track sales forecasts at customer and product level while acting as the conduit between sales and purchasing. Be able to identify variances in actual demand vs planned demand and to make informed changes to forecasts and supply chain plans to minimise shortages and overstocks. Communicate withinternal teams potential stock shortages and excess stock. Interface with and be part of the Demand planning process. Implement processes to flag potential issues before inventory is replenished. Implement processes to facilitate short term and long-term supply planning to achieve adherence to schedule in production scheduling and On Time Delivery to customers. Manage inventory and supply planning to site KPIs and continuously improve. Requirements & Qualifications Previous experience of working in an Inventory Analyst role or in similar roles, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices High degree of numeracy Good understanding of financial aspects and KPIs as they relate to inventory management Skills An acute eye for detail and numbers Strong analytical and problem solving skills to analyse data and present back in concise and understandable format, such as graphs, tables and diagrams Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential (VBA, lookups, pivots, macros and databases) Experience of JDE ERP systems would be an advantage Competencies Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams Highly organised and methodical EEO Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
