Building and Facilities Manager (Workspaces) We’re looking for a proactive, people-focused Building and Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of our offices at Great Places. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our workplaces are welcoming, safe, and fit for purpose — all while bringing a passion for creating positive workplace experiences that help our colleagues thrive. Office locations include Didsbury, Cheadle, Trafford Park, Oldham, Blackpool, Blackburn and Sheffield. What you’ll be doing Managing the maintenance and upkeep of our office buildings and facilities Overseeing services such as cleaning, waste, security, and building systems (e.g. heating, lighting, M&E) Ensuring all health and safety checks, fire drills and procedures are up to date Working with internal teams and contractors to deliver timely repairs and improvements Leading the reception, caretaking and cleaning teams — including 1-2-1s and reviews Managing contracts and supplier relationships in line with procurement standards Supporting the planning and delivery of workplace events and experiences Maintaining a high standard of internal and external office presentation Please see full role profile attached at the bottom of this page. What you’ll need Relevant facilities qualifications (e.g. IWFM Level 4, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent) Strong experience in facilities/building management, ideally in multi-site roles Proven ability to lead teams and manage contractors effectively Excellent knowledge of health and safety in modern work environments Confident using Microsoft Office and facilities systems Experience planning budgets, writing RAMS, and managing risk What we need from you A commitment to understand the challenges and opportunities that exist in the communities in which we work.
