JOB PURPOSE:
Working alongside a dedicated content production team you will be creating original social food content for multiple different platforms. The Video Editor, Food requires a passion and strong knowledge of what works across the food content spectrum on all social media platforms. They should be technically versatile and be comfortable collaborating with production crew and other stakeholders. They should be an expert in editing technology and Adobe CC. They should have experience of creating content to briefs and be detail obsessed and creatively driven.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Working with a small production team to edit short-form, original food content for social media channels.
* The ability to contribute to ideas and then translate these in a fast-turnaround food content production environment, working to a weekly production and publishing schedule.
* Best practice social-first editing mastery for food content, grabbing audience’s attention from the get-go.
* You’re a ‘social native’ and you know the difference between a hit and a miss, even at the idea stage. You’ll know your TikToks from your YT Shorts and understand behaviours of audiences online.
* Experience editing longer-form food-focused entertainment content is a bonus.
* Liaising with internal teams and Channel 4 commissioners regarding the editorial of the content.
* You will be required to manage the sometimes competing demands of key stakeholders. Cool under pressure and excellent powers of persuasion are required.
* You’ll need experience of working to strict timelines.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Demonstrable social food content experience and strong video editing capability.
* Skilled video editor, with a good understanding of social food content trends and techniques.
* You’ll be an expert with Premiere Pro and, ideally, After Effects.
* Must have a good knowledge of all areas of social food video content creation, able to execute a truly social-first video edit to a timely delivery.
* You’ll have an expert understanding of post-production, from motion graphics and colour grading to data wrangling, ingestion, and distribution.
* Should have strong experience in editing creative projects to meet a creative brief.
* You’ll be able to edit topical food content quickly and to the required standard to allow us to jump on trends.
* A strong awareness of best practices across multiple platforms is vital, including how to deliver assets to a variety of technical specifications.
* Must have a thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools, and methodologies.
* Experience of working for a broadcaster, social publisher brand, or in an agency environment.
* This role will require the applicant to work evenings and weekends from time to time as productions require.
* Proven experience of establishing close working relationships and able to communicate with differing departments to meet differing demands.
