A full-time English Teacher is required for September 2025 in our award-winning and “Outstanding Church School” (SIAMS). The post offers an excellent opportunity to teach in a flourishing and successful Church of England Academy where we prioritise the wellbeing and development of all members of our school community. Our school is heavily over-subscribed and its record in public examinations is consistently strong.
The school is seeking to appoint a committed, highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to teach English throughout Key Stages 3 and 4. Experience or qualifications to teach English Language and/or Literature to A-level will be a definite advantage; there will be some A-level teaching for the right candidate.
The English Department is successful and is at an exciting stage in its development occupying a central place in the life of our Church School. In summer 2024, 76% of Year 11 gained at least one GCSE grade 4-9 in English, and 23% at least one grade 7-9.
The school of 1000 pupils and the Sixth Form of 300 students are attractively and conveniently situated close to the Ribble Valley. There are excellent motorway connections via M65 to M6 and M62.
An application form and further details can be downloaded below. Closing date – Friday 7th March 2025 (midday) and interviews are planned for the following week.
