About The Role
Play a pivotal role in securing projects for a leading civil and infrastructure company in the UK. As a Lead Tender Planner, you'll be responsible for developing winning work program strategies, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring efficient planning for successful tenders and pre-construction phases.
Location: Hybrid - primarily Kent office (1 day/week), with flexibility to work from the London office 2 days/week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop winning work program strategies for tenders, considering risks and opportunities.
2. Collaborate effectively with internal and external teams on pre-construction projects.
3. Lead the development of a strong Tender Planning Team through selection, mentoring, and professional growth initiatives.
4. Ensure consistent, high-quality planning and programming services across all company divisions.
5. Lead program meetings for both internal and external stakeholders, including tender presentations.
6. Guarantee program content adheres to company planning procedures and guidance.
7. Establish construction outputs, methods, sequencing, and commissioning plans with operational teams.
8. Produce and document planning deliverables such as programs, reports, and presentations.
9. Uphold the company's core values in your daily work.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
10. Relevant degree in engineering/construction or equivalent experience.
11. Operational experience (e.g., site engineer/agent) with significant experience in planning medium to large UK construction projects.
12. Proven tender planning experience.
13. Strong working knowledge of planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta, MS Project).
14. Excellent communication, commercial awareness, and financial acumen.
15. Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
16. Solid understanding of the design process, procurement routes, and general construction knowledge.
17. Familiarity with various performance measurement techniques (e.g., critical path/progress analysis).
