About This Role
Ormiston Shelfield Community Academy is an exciting and dynamic place to work. We are an oversubscribed secondary academy with over 1400 students on roll at Key Stages 3-5. We Are Looking To Recruit An Exam Invigilator To
1. conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Ormiston Shelfield Academy regulations and instructions
2. have a key role in upholding the integrity and security of the examination/assessment process
Hours of work will be by negotiation and agreement during the external examination series which are November, January, May/June and Internal Examination periods as needed. Typically, a morning session would be 8:00am to 12:00pm and an afternoon session from 12:00pm until 4:00pm/5:00pm dependent upon the length of examinations.
The Ideal Candidate Will
1. be reliable, flexible and readily available during main exam periods
2. have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
3. work well as part of a team
4. be confident and a reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms
5. be able to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people
6. have basic IT skills
Experience of invigilation is not required as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided.
As part of the wider duties and responsibilities of the role, the successful candidate will be required to promote and actively support the Academy’s responsibilities towards safeguarding.
