What will I be doing?
Work as part of a team of CAM Engineers to ensure a smooth production process, through evolving and introducing the most suitable manufacturing processes for SAFRAN products that deliver safe, high quality, repeatable, cost-effective solutions with agreed, calculated time outputs. Provide line/process support to the industrial function, problem solving, taking corrective actions and identifying further opportunities. The team will focus on the programming and support of CNC machine tools and Robotic cells. This specific role will involve the support of laser ply projection, 5-axis programming, and sheet metal CNC processes, including laser welding and cutting.
Design to produce at objective cost:
1. Define manufacturing processes, ensure all processes are consistent and compliant with specifications.
2. Design manufacturing processes with a TAKT/Flow philosophy and ergonomic risks in mind.
3. Create and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points, methods of inspection, and controls approval authorities for engineering disciplines.
4. Create work instruction sheets, tooling requests, and production support drawings.
5. Ensure that the performance of the process meets the defined targets (quality, cost, delivery).
6. Provide expert guidance to suppliers (internal and external).
7. Plan, drive and coordinate activities contributing to the industrial product validation (methods, purchasing, engineering ...) in order to meet the defined targets, quality, cost, delivery.
8. Establish global manufacturing process concepts, oversee the selection of plant and equipment and the preparation of factory layouts, and support the definition of detailed workplace layouts for machine tools.
9. Manage engineering risk within the department by using a PFMEA approach and through the use of SPC to ensure sustainability and a repeatable manufacturing process.
Job Requirements
Mandatory Experience:
1. Detailed vision of production processes and their company's supply chain.
2. Manufacturing Engineering experience from leading edge environments.
3. Knowledge of business economics.
4. Engineering degree/HND or equivalent experience.
5. Be capable of communicating with an English speaking manufacturing unit, both verbally and in writing.
6. Familiar with the Lean Toolbox methodology.
7. Good understanding of machine tools used in composites manufacturing.
8. Good understanding of robotic cells used in composites manufacturing and assembly.
9. Good understanding of structured languages (Machine and Computer Languages such as ISO, C++, VBA etc.).
10. Time served in toolmaking or similar role.
