We are now seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with strong team working skills for our Operations unit.
In this role you will be responsible for:
1. Performing day-to-day maintenance tasks, including PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance), regular inspections, and servicing of plant equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
2. Responding promptly to plant issues, breakdowns, and maintenance needs while enhancing the site's efficiency, safety culture, and overall standards to ensure continuous and efficient operation.
3. Ensuring that stores are stocked with critical items.
4. Adhering to and promoting safe work standards at all times.
5. Updating the SAP maintenance platform with accurate and timely information.
6. Assisting in the issuing of work permits.
7. Assisting and leading activities during both planned and unplanned plant/production outages.
What you’ll bring to the team:
1. Experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Fitter, particularly with equipment commonly used in chemical production plants (mechanical seals, centrifugal pumps, rotary lobe pumps, air-operated diaphragm pumps, gearboxes, couplings, and pressurized systems (both process and pneumatic)).
2. Understanding of working in ATEX environments, ideally with CompEX Mech Ex11 certification.
3. Strong ability to perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance on production plant machinery and equipment.
4. Qualification in pump alignment, along with a qualification in Mechanical Engineering and a willingness to further develop these skills.
5. Strong team working skills with the ability to work independently when required.
6. A positive attitude towards safety and a commitment to continuous improvement.
7. A conscientious and proactive approach to work activities, with the flexibility to adapt to production and plant needs and demands.
8. Desirable qualifications and experience: FLT licence, computer skills (Word, Excel, SAP, SharePoint), safety qualification, experience working in a COMAH environment and familiarity with COSHH.
