Overview of Role:
As an experienced Litigator, you will be responsible for pro-actively managing a portfolio of cases suitable for litigation through to settlement or final hearing, working on behalf of insurance companies handling those claims.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a mixed caseload including but not limited to liability disputes, repair, credit hire, and small claims cases.
2. Effective management of the litigation process to ensure SLA's are met.
3. Work a task list effectively.
4. Negotiate quantum and assess liability.
5. Draft Court documents.
6. Liaise with clients regarding uninsured losses and obtain relevant case information in a competent manner.
7. Adhere to all court deadlines.
8. Take and draft comprehensive statements.
9. Book and instruct Counsel to attend trial.
10. Allocate settlement funds.
11. Deliver quality work.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Ideally, at least 2 years experience as a claims handler within the legal or insurance industries.
2. At least 1 year credit hire experience.
3. High level of motivation and a challenge-seeker who understands the importance of delivering exceptional customer service, communicating well by telephone and in writing.
4. Comfortable communicating with clients, insurers, brokers, the Court, Solicitors, and Barristers.
5. A quick learner who likes to take ownership, thrives in a team, ensures quality output, and has a great eye for detail.
6. Able to work calmly under pressure in an organized and efficient manner using our case management system and ensuring an effective diary system.
7. Full knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules relating to RTA/Motor Insurance Claims.
8. Able to work under minimal supervision.
