The Role We're looking for a financial accountant to join our awesome finance team based out of our Chiswick office. This role will focus on consolidations and projects, and will be a fabulous opportunity to join a high-calibre team, with a real passion for driving insights and enhancing the transparency of business performance through presenting clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders. We're looking for someone to be a key player in the co-ordination and delivery of all consolidation reporting across EMEA relating to management and statutory purposes. You'll lead and be accountable for the delivery of key cross-functional projects to improve accounting and finance business process and control. This role provides an opportunity to develop breadth and experience through collaboration with the local EMEA & US accounting/ commercial finance teams, as well as other key functions, including and not limited to supply chain and legal. Apply now What you'll do: - Delivering monthly and quarterly financial commentary against budget to EMEA and International leadership teams - Managing the EMEA accounting close process and analysis of all group consolidations and all routine reporting - Enhancing the GL close and reporting processes both in terms of budget holder management and consolidation reporting to improve operational efficiency and information exchange - Investigating variances between budget and actuals, and prepare analysis on reported financial results - Preparing accurate monthly/quarterly/yearly EMEA consolidation packs and provide concise financial commentary - Developing process maps for key operational activities across the licensee and equity businesses with clear processes guides and controls framework to deliver on efficiencies and automation - Producing project documentation e.g. project plan, risks & issues logs, status reports - Engaging with all EMEA accounting teams to develop roadmaps and implementation of solutions for process improvements ensuring that tight delivery times are met and work collaboratively with global project teams - Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations across EMEA accounting entities, identifying control gaps and providing recommendations to enhance reconciliations - Identifying and maintaining of EMEA accounting risks and opportunities - Providing support with quarterly board reviews and analysis for EMEA leadership teams - Preparing detailed technical accounting memorandums - Supporting the integration of new business developments into the EMEA consolidation framework Knowledge, Skills and Experience - A fully qualified accountant with internal or/and external audit and assurance background - Experience in change and project management - Excellent communication skills and ability to manage and influence a wide variety of stakeholders at varying levels - Ability to collaborate cross functionally, and to explain complex accounting matters to non-accountants - Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment - Proven ability to analyse and interpret information received with attention to detail - Accounting experience in a large retail organisation is desirable - Demonstrable problem-solving and sound analytical skills to drive business decisions - Strong systems skills in all MS Office applications, with advanced Excel highly desirable - Experience working with large ERP accounting and reporting system; Oracle and HFM preferred This job description is only a summary of the typical functions of the role and is not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties that may be required.
