Job Title: Land & Development Associate/ Director
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 plus bonus and benefits
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated RICS Registered Surveyor on behalf of our client to join their Land and Development team in Birmingham. The role will focus on covering the transactional market for development land, including the acquisition and sale of residential and residential-led mixed-use opportunities across city centers, suburban areas, and strategic brownfield/greenfield sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide strategic advice on development appraisals, marketing strategies, and other consultancy services to generate income.
2. Provide formal 'Red Book' valuation advice and undertake Financial Viability Assessments.
3. Specialise in a key area such as strategic land, BTR (Build to Rent), retirement/later living, student accommodation, or similar.
4. Take the lead in Section 106 Agreement negotiations, utilising your extensive experience.
5. Demonstrate a strong understanding of public sector procurement and disposals, including S123, charities, and the Charity Act (OJEU experience preferred).
6. Build and maintain a strong market profile within the development sector.
7. Identify and secure new work, building relationships with a diverse range of clients, including private individuals, charities, public organisations, and corporates.
8. Assist in raising the profile of this company across the region.
9. Mentor and support junior personnel, assisting in their career development and progression.
10. Help deliver financial performance in line with individual and team budgets.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. RICS Registered Surveyor and Valuer (or the ability to register).
2. Demonstrated ability to generate consultancy income through the provision of expert advice.
3. Market profile and established relationships within the development sector.
4. Proven track record of securing work and delivering results.
5. Ability to lead and work within multi-disciplinary teams.
6. Experience in supporting junior staff and contributing to team growth.
