We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Wealstun, a Category C men's prison with an operational capacity of around 1000. The prison has good transport links, as well as a free onsite car park.
This is a fantastic opportunity start or continue your career in Pharmacy and Healthcare - no previous experience is necessary, and we will support you with lots of training and development opportunities. Hours This is a full time position, working an average of hours over 4 days per week. We offer healthcare 7 days per week so shifts will fall between Monday - Sunday, so a flexible approach is needed. Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £24,669 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As our new Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
1. Support the onsite Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
2. Second check medication before dispensing to patients on medication rounds
3. Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
4. Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures
5. Work in the medication hatches on the wings
6. Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals

Our new Pharmacy Support Worker will have:
18. No experience is necessary - we are looking for someone with a keen interest in Pharmacy, and keen to pursue a career in Pharmacy and Healthcare
19. An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing would be a bonus, but isn't essential
20. Ideally have medicines handling experience, although this isn't essential
21. Be a hard worker, diligent, with a high attention to detail
