Reason for the role: This is an expansion recruitment. Background: Mutual Energy is a company limited by guarantee. It was formed to acquire, and hold, strategically significant energy infrastructure assets for the benefit of the energy consumers of Northern Ireland. To drive forward our vision Mutual Energy is now recruiting a number of graduate roles across the company. We are seeking Graduate Engineers who will support the ongoing maintenance and operation of our growing asset base and also support our work on identifying, assessing, and developing potential projects that will support the energy transition in NI and we are also recruiting a Finance Graduate and a Commercial Graduate who will support our day to day activities across various areas of the business. The company is split into four main business functions: 1. Commercial and Projects, 2. Operations, 3. Finance (which includes the compliance, as well as the regulatory and market management functions) and 4. Energy Transition. Key Duties: We are recruiting for five graduate roles across various departments within the company. - 3 x Engineering Graduates (one electrical engineer and two other engineering roles with non-specific but relevant background) - 1 x Trainee Accountant role (open to relevant and non-relevant degrees and backgrounds) - 1 x Commercial Analyst Graduate role The key duties vary across the different roles and the individual job specifications should be consulted on our website, mutual- Essential Criteria Engineering Graduate roles: For all positions, a third level qualification or equivalent in engineering or another relevant subject, Specifically for one of these positions, a third level qualification or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Possess a full driving license and have access to a vehicle for business purposes or alternatively have access to a form of transport which will permit travel to meet the requirements of this role, A right to work in the UK. Trainee Accountant Graduate role: A minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline or Accounting Technicians qualification Strong attention to detail and emphasis on accuracy Bright and ambitious candidate with excellent communication skills A right to work in the UK Commercial Analyst Graduate role: A third level qualification in economics, finance, accounting, law, engineering or an equivalent subject. Strong IT skills (MS Office suite) A right to work in the UK. Desirable Criteria Engineering Graduate roles: Affiliation to a professional body e.g., IET, IMechE, IGEM, with an ambition to achieve chartered status, Experience of effectively managing others including the ability to motivate people to improve performance and meet the desired objectives, Knowledge of relevant operational, technical and legal requirements within the energy sector, Knowledge of current asset management practice e.g. ISO 55001, In the region of one years relevant work experience (this can include Graduate placement, or other work), Experience of relevant information systems such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Enterprise Asset Management Systems (EAMS). Trainee Accountant Graduate role: A minimum 2:1 degree in Accounting or a finance-related discipline Strong performance in A levels Strong computer skills (Excel & Word) Commercial Analyst Graduate role: Experience of sourcing, analysing and critically assessing complex information. Enthusiastic committed self-starter with proactive approach to problem solving. Sound judgment and decision making skills and ability to work under pressure. In the region of one years relevant work experience (this can include Graduate placement, or other work). Coding skills and experience; such as but not limited to Python, VBA, and SQL. Package: Location Ormeau Road, Belfast Remuneration £27,000-£31,000 depending on role applied for Bonus A 10% Bonus Scheme, based on company and individual performance Pension A contributory pension up to 9.5% by the employer Private Medical Private medical insurance is offered for the individual and family Life assurance Life assurance is available with this role Critical Illness Critical illness cover is provided with this position Hours of Work The standard hours of work are 9am - 5pm although a higher degree of commitment and flexibility may be required to meet deadlines Hybrid Working The company offers non-contractual hybrid working arrangements, with a minimum of two working days per week within the office, subject to particular work requirements.
