Quality Engineer, Contract, Burghfield - RG30 3RR
Main Purpose:
The role exists in order to develop and implement site quality arrangements across all aspects of site activities (e.g. Installation, Commissioning, Operations) in support of the overall project lifecycle.
The Site Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that activities (e.g. audits) are undertaken to establish the implementation status of the above arrangements and the reporting of such information.
The Site Quality Engineer will also undertake specific activities on behalf of the Quality function as required.
Key Result Areas:
1. Developing and implementing site quality arrangements.
2. Proactively supporting and advising on all aspects of quality on site, including risks and issues.
3. Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.
4. As required, ensuring quality requirements are defined and implemented as part of the site induction and training process.
5. Establishing effective communication channels with Customers (internal and external) and Suppliers.
6. Developing and implementing appropriate auditing arrangements associated with site activities, both internally and externally (e.g. Suppliers).
7. Ensuring any site quality non-conformances/issues are managed and closed out.
8. Ensuring Supplier quality arrangements are reviewed and approved/accepted in accordance with site/project requirements, including Customer approvals.
9. Monitoring progress against the site quality arrangements, identifying areas of concern to the overall project and where necessary escalating to Line Management.
10. Liaising with Customers to understand their requirements/expectations for quality assurance, quality control and inspection.
11. Carrying out supplier assessments.
12. Carrying out oversight surveillance of installation, testing and commissioning activities in line with site Inspection & Test Plans and associated completions check sheets.
Knowledge:
1. Good working knowledge of the Nuclear industry and Nuclear License Conditions.
2. Good working knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation.
3. Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements.
4. Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
5. Knowledge of site construction completions systems e.g. OCCMS.
6. Knowledge of Configuration Management Practices.
Experience:
1. Have experience of Nuclear Construction Site Work.
2. CSCS card holder.
3. Experience of Drafting ITP's and construction Installation, Test & Commissioning check sheets.
Other:
1. Ideally be qualified to a HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. engineering.
2. Have valid inspection certificates e.g. (CSWIP, C&G, PCN).
