Income Management Advisor
Housing Income and Leaseholder Management
Temporary – Up to 18 months
Full time – 37 hours per week
NS10 £35,235 - £37,035 per annum
We are now recruiting for an Income Management Adviser to join our Housing Income and Leaseholder Management team on a temporary basis. In this role you will be responsible for providing a proactive and supportive income management service to ensure tenancies are sustained and rent recovery is maximised. You will demonstrate effective conflict management skills, will encourage tenant involvement, and will have a customer focus at all times.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Proactively engaging with tenants offering support and guidance
2. Taking a preventative, early intervention approach to arrears management
3. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Council, external agencies and support providers to achieve the best outcomes for tenants
4. Initiating and managing formal recovery processes where necessary, including serving legal notice and attending court
5. Attending evictions where necessary to ensure they are carried out in the prescribed manner
6. Preparing reports and statistical data as required
As the successful candidate, you will have:
1. Previous experience working in social housing
2. Excellent knowledge of current social housing issues and relevant legislation
3. Excellent knowledge of housing finance issues such as rent recovery and the welfare benefits system
4. HNC, or equivalent, in housing or relevant field
5. Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy, and processes
