About the Project:
The HVAC and Piping categories focuses on issues relating to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning of plantsand delivery of piped services to buildings across the Sellafield site.

About the Role:
The candidate will be responsible to support the HVAC Categorised Projects and will be required to support the HVAC Principal Engineer / SL RE in the delivery of various HVAC projects.
The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, and into detail design, and assistance during installation and commissioning borne design queries.
The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery with experience of optioneering and front-end design and detail design. Specific responsibilities are:
Support the Project in all aspects of HVAC with knowledge, specifically the delivery of the design of HVAC Systems or modification to existing HVAC Systems.
Working with a small integrated design team in the delivery of design packages against milestones.
Manage multiple projects at a time.
Contribute to the production of multi discipline design document such as, but not limited to: Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, Design Justification Report.
Determine project requirements independently.
Produce HVAC specific documentation such as, but not limited to technical and engineering reports, mech/HVAC Drawings and HVAC/Building services calculations.
Review / checking of design document and piping deliverables from another senior mechanical designer.
Ability to estimate hours for scope changes or additional works along with outlining supporting schedule for the discipline.
Produce Reports and documentation to comply with CDM.
Manage content of schedules.
This role requires interface with Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), other project functions and must work closely throughout project phases. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate must demonstrate experience in a similar role or environment having direct influence over development of HVAC deliverables. The candidate needs experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably gained within the nuclear industry. To be fully conversant with UK Statutory Regulations and industry design guides and standards relating to this discipline. It would also be an advantage to be familiar with the relevant Sellafield Limited Design Standards.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Relevant HVAC design experience.
Ideally chartered or working towards chartership.
Knowledge and experience of UK regulations is essential.
Knowledge of nuclear standards and site procedures (preferred but not essential).
Ability to manage their own time effectively to ensure tasks are delivered to budget and timescale.
Good proficiency in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, Visio, Power point, Outlook, etc).
Proactive and driven approach to work, taking ownership of the tasks required to be completed under their remit.
Good communication skills and ability to work with other team members.
Competent Report writing skills: clearly and concisely reporting findings.
Comfortable working under time and cost constraints.
Security Clearance Requirements:
Preferred: Currently holds P1/P4 pass and SC Clearance.
Essential: Ability to obtain P1 or P4 Pass.
Preferred: SC Clearance.
Essential: Ability to obtain SC clearance within a reasonable period.
Radiological Status Requirements:
Monitored worker status advantageous but not essential.
Individual will be required to enter the Sellafield Site Active areas.
